Okay I’ve arrived! And this is short. Everything has been really hectic, I’ve been doing lots of shopping (which is lots of fun! but also really tiring and exhausting). Settling in has been great: my dorm room is oldish looking but a lot bigger than I expected so whoopee!

Sunday I went with the parents to Washington National Cathedral which was nice, even though there was no choir and service was pretty low church. Amazingly, I got selected to carry the food basket! Lol.

This is my room:

I just came back from one of the most brilliant and wonderful early music concerts ever! It was held at Trinity Episcopal, Staunton, which is a fine sacred space with decent acoustics. It was tremendous. Music featured included Telemann’s Overture in B-flat Major, Ferrandini’s Il Pianto di maria (with the absolutely wonderful mezzo-soprano Jennifer Lane, who was actually late for the performance and kept everyone waiting!), and Vivaldi’s Gloria, with the James Madison University Chorus, which was also wonderful.

Now this is our Grand Marquee:

And this is me on my horse!

Um: a playground in the park!

We were wondering if we qualify for 8 and under…

Dinner with my sister at Beverley’s restaurant, a really nice place.

Me with the organ of Trinity Episcopal in the background. It looks German Baroquish, but I sadly didn’t get to hear it.

Me on the swing at Trinity Episcopal’s playground:

More of me at the playground!

The concert starts: the Baroque Ensemble playing Telemann

The James Madison Choir singing madrigals during the really extended intermission.

My bags are packed I’m ready to go…

Well, I’m ready to depart! Really, sort of. Away to Baltimore! Some pictures from the last time I was there:

Can’t wait to start school! It’ll be nice to have a sense of normalcy again.

Went shopping just now! I have absolutely fallen in love with Nike Golf Shirts. I also bought a Kenneth Cole Reaction bag really cheaply! Swoosh :P

So yesterday night I went for Aida with my sister which was just a marvellous production. It was amazing, and I wish I could be here for the entire season.
